
Karen is originally from Millstreet Town Co. Cork but now lives and works in Tralee Co. Kerry. Karen is a poet and short-story writer and her work has appeared in many magazines and anthologies. Her poetry has been translated into French, Dutch and Irish. Karen was short listed for the Fish International Poetry Prize and Commended for the Ware Poets Open Poetry Competition in 2006. She was winner of the End Of Festival SLAM at the West Cork Literary Festival in July 2006 with her poem 92 And Driving and received 2nd Prize in the Clogh Writers 10th Poetry Competition in October 2006. Karen was again shortlisted for the Fish International Poetry Prize in May 2007. Karen also has a passion for short fiction, for which she has won The Nora Fahy Literary Award. She is a founder member of "Scribblers" a Tralee Writers' Group and has performed her work in England, France and Belgium as well as Ireland.
